OF NOTE: Rx ain't the same as it used to be! Check out Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum in Old Town Alexandria! $4.00

I just learned about the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum in Old Town Alexandria! I can't wait to check out this old apothecary shop and museum which has some offbeat items still on hand.

The museum is located at 105-107 South Fairfax Street in Alexandria, Virginia. Admission to the museum is $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for kids 11-17, under 11, free. The museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Hours area Wednesday to Saturday: 11 am to 4 pm and Sunday: 1 pm to 4 pm. For more info: http://oha.alexandriava.gov/apothecary/ap-py-visit.html

Getting there by Metro: You can take the yellow or blue line to King Street station. From there, you can take the Dash Bus to King and North Fairfax Streets or walk, though it's about a mile away so probably best to take the bus. Call (703) 370-DASH for bus schedules and information, or check the schedules posted at the station. If you want to walk, cross the parking lot and turn right, one half block to King Street. Turn right (east) on King Street and walk about down hill about 1 mile South Fairfax Street. Turn right, and the museum will be on your right.
