The weather is getting colder, but the arboretum is still open everyday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Dec 25th and Admission is Free!
The National Bonsai & Penjing Museum was featured on WETA's new show, "Unusual Attractions" and that part of the Arboretum closes earlier than the rest so be sure to visit first. They are only open from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Also a great family and date spot I am sure!

Not the easiest spot to get to by public transportation, but I hear it is a great place to bike and also to visit. It's right on NY Ave as you are headed toward 95 on Rte 50. Closest metro is Union Station and then you can bike or take a taxi or perhaps a bus even. Check metro's website.
