PAST: ART Featuring Local Artists Dana Ellyn and Matt Sesow at Aroma in Cleveland Park, show runs thru Jan

The opening has past, but the show goes on... through January!

Below is the invitation I received in an email from Dana.

Opening party for "Under the Influence" A 2-person exhibit of Dana Ellyn & Matt Sesow at Aroma.

"Under the Influence" is a most important show for me for several reasons. First, it's an exhibit with my nearest and dearest Matt Sesow. Second, Aroma is the place where Matt and I met 6 years ago. And, "Under the Influence" is the perfect moniker on several levels. There' s the obvious reference to drinking but, on a deeper level, it refers to the influence that Matt and I have had on each other as painters. We'll be exhibiting about 10 paintings each which will hang at Aroma throughout the months of December and January. Note about Aroma: Aroma is a bar, so you must be 21 years or older, it is also a Smoking bar, which means cigarettes and cigars are allowed. This is one of the only places in DC that earned its exemption from the smoking ban. Now that it's getting colder out, the smokers are filing in and I'd suggest getting there early to check out the artwork, and stick around for a drink if you like. Place opens at 6:00 and usually gets busy after 8:30pm. Also, there is a Smoke Free lounge area in the back that you should view as well, more art there, and comfy seating! Aroma is located just one block from the Cleveland Park Metro at 3417 Connecticut Ave, NW.
