Saturday, September 27: 1 p.m. The charismatic young French priest, Patrick Desbois, will talk about THE HOLOCAUST BY BULLETS, his investigation of the way The Final Solution was executed in Ukraine.

Saturday, 6 p.m. Perfectly timed for the 2008 election, native son Porter Shreve returns to P&P with a true Washington novel, WHEN THE WHITE HOUSE WAS OURS.

Sunday, September 28: 1 p.m. In STALKING IRISH MADNESS, Patrick Tracey traveled to Ireland to track the origin and solve the mystery of his Irish-American family's multigenerational struggle with schizophrenia.

Sunday, 5 p.m. Lawyer Gerald Stern has devoted decades to helping the widows of men killed in a West Virginia mining disaster. He recounts the story in THE SCOTIA WIDOWS: Inside the Lawsuit Against Big Daddy Coal.

Monday, September 29: 10:30 a.m. CHILDREN’S EVENT with STEVE JENKINS AND ROBIN PAGE, for HOW MANY WAYS CAN YOU CATCH A FLY? Ages 6-9.

Tuesday, September 30: Dexter Filkins will discuss his respected book, THE FOREVER WAR , as he titled the book after covering wars in the Middle East for nine years.

Wednesday, October 1, Joseph Miller will discuss his memoir of a 40-year political life in campaigns and as a lobbyist, THE WICKED WINE OF DEMOCRACY
