PAST: Free Concert at LoC this THURS, Dec 11th, Verge Ensemble, 8:00pm

Free concert this Thursday eve at the Library of Congress!

The Verge Ensemble performs works commissioned by the Library in celebration of Elliot Carter's centennial-Shatin's Tower of the Eight Winds and Antosca's Kairos. Program is below:

Antosca - Kairos - time outside of time for violin, harpsichord, and computer (world premiere - McKim commission)
Carter - Scrivo en Vento for solo flute
Carter - Eight Pieces for Four Timpani
Carter - Enchanted Preludes for flute and cello
Shatin - Tower of the Eight Winds for violin and piano (world premiere - McKim commission)
Carter - A Mirror on Which to Dwell

At 6:15pm there will be a pre-concert presentation, in which composers Steve Antosca and Judith Shatin discuss their Library commissions inspired by Elliot Carter. This event will take place in the Whittall Pavilion. No tickets are required.
