WASHINGTON, DC, January 30, 2009 – Levine School of Music will present a Book Signing and Singalong with Dr. Ysaye Barnwell of Sweet Honey in the Rock on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 2:00pm. Come meet the charismatic vocalist and composer Dr. Ysaye Maria Barnwell who recently released “We Are One”, an uplifting book and CD for all ages about community and diversity and winner of the Bock Book Award for 2008. Dr. Barnwell will read from her book and lead audience members in songs from the CD. Dr. Barnwell is a longtime member of the acclaimed a cappella group Sweet Honey in the Rock, Artists-in-Residence at the Levine School, where she leads monthly Community Sings. The book will be available for signing and purchase after the event.
