New Links: You may have noticed that I've recently added a new list of links on the right side of the page. I've selected other sites which I think are note worthy and the list may continue to grow over time but I think it's a good list to start with. My personal inside advice to you all is to go to the link and find the search box and use the keyword "free" to search all events. You'd be surprised how many more free events that there are, I am simply not able to keep up with posting them all!
Keeping it Local: In addition, you can now find links to other DC local bloggers and links to friend's who are doing creative and eco-friendly work who I am happy to support and local venues that support the arts by hosting lots of great free events. If I miss an event that you know of that you think deserves mention on this site, you can always email me directly.
Seeking Sponsors: I'm also reaching out to find sponsors now. If you, or anyone you know, is interested in becoming a sponsor of this site, I am also looking for sponsors to help support the work that I am doing (which is, at the moment, being done for free and for the love of free). I'd love to speak with any arts organizations, cultural organizations, local businesses and eco-friendly businesses that may be able to help fund the site in exchange for Highly Visible Sponsor Links on the site. I'd also be interested in DC, MD, or VA Transit Agencies or Government Agencies who want permanent links on the site. Any other ideas, I'm happy to speak with anyone interested in supporting the site.
Please email me at freeindcblog@gmail.com if you have any contacts or would like to speak with me about the possibility of sponsoring this site. It's a lot of work to keep this site running and I'm hoping to find a way to avoid google advertisements and to continue supporting local businesses, the arts, and other areas of interest that you can find here on "Free in DC."
Thank you all so much for reading! Please feel free to write anytime if you have stories or comments that you like to share. I hope that the postings I have been putting up are helping you out in this economic down time. Please feel free to pass this site along to your friends. Rest assured that you are in an excellent city which proves that you don't need a lot of money to live a rich, and enriching, life!
