An evening of live music with musicians Huda Asfour, Nadim Khoury and Brian Falkowski. The group will be performing original compositions from Huda's album, Mars, in addition to a number of classical and traditional tunes. Brief Bios of the artists: Huda Asfour is a Palestnian oud and kanoun player born in 1982 in Lebanon. In 2004, she moved to Egypt to continue her education and she is currently a doctoral student at GWU. Nadim Khoury, born in 1981, is a Palestinian who grew up in the cities of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Nadim studied the buzuk under the guidance of Khaled Jubran and is currently a Ph.D. student in political theory at UVA. Brian Falkowski is a versatile musician performing all styles of music on saxophones, flute and clarinet throughout the D.C. metropolitan area.
