Tomorrow is Passport DC Open House! Embassies open their doors every year for this special one day event! The event will showcase embassies from Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, and the Americas, with artists and artisans, performers, lecturers, teachers, and others provide a range of educational and cultural programming designed for people of all ages.
I went last year and have a few suggestions: 1) wear comfortable shoes and dress according to the weather (it was hot last year) 2) don't carry heavy bags with you for security purposes, etc 3) bring some food to snack on and some water if you can 4) bring along some cash so you can sample some of the treats for sale like the gelato at the Italian Embassy, yum! 5) Look at the map and schedule online and try to plan ahead. You won't be able to see all of the embassies with the lines so you may want to check out the map and try to see the ones you really want to see instead of trying to see them all. I'd suggest starting at the ones further out first since last year it was really crowded at the ones closest to Dupont. Be sure to check out the full schedule and map online before making your plans!
