In from California... The Makepeace Brothers play a special show Tonight at BloomBars at 9:00pm. The show is donation based so swing on by for a real treat!
This band is one of my faves when in the mood for beautiful harmonies and beach sounding music (a bit of Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson (with harmonies) meets Beach Boys. Their ballad "Hero" has the heart of John Lennon and makes me feel connected to something amazingly powerful. In case you are wondering... Yes, they are brothers and their real last name is Makepeace!
They toured last spring with Jason Mraz and their music has been described by others as an "eclectic mix of bluegrass, jazz Brazilian, African world rhythms, and Celtic" but I in my opinion, it is best to just have a listen by clicking on their myspace page here or on facebook here.
