This month's feature is the electrifying result when poetry becomes music, performed with energy that rivals rock & roll, and yet still hip-hop in its truest form. The 5th L is a Baltimore-based, nationally traveled, spoken-word, poetry-meets-hip-hop soul group made up of David Ross/Native Son and Femi Lawal/The Dri Fish. They deliver an action-packed experience with the skilled theatrics of a Broadway show and the high energy of rap, yet with the poetic integrity of Langston Hughes to entertain and enlighten audiences.
