This is one of my favorite places to be on a Sunday! I took these pictures on May 10th, Mother's Day. I think they really capture a lot of the energy and sense of community that happens there. The park has new grass and is a great spot to picnic, play and hang out. Weather permitting, the drummers show up to play, and boy do they know how! You can join the circle, dance, people watch or chill on the grass. It is a rich and diverse community of people from around the globe. The Acro-Yoga crew usually is there as well, and they are very cool to watch. You may even have a chance to try it out.
The circle usually goes mid afternoon until about 8:30. Park is between 16th and 15th, W St and Euclid. Best to take bus along 16th to Crescent Pl or metro to Columbia Heights and walk.
