Guitars Not Guns is the beneficiary for this week's show at the Sounds Of Hope. Flo Anito, Alexis George and The Fishermen all perform this Friday night! This is an all ages show, donation based. Please give as you are able.

Friday, July 24th
7:00pm - 10:30pm

Lineup: Welcome, Alexis George, Flo Anito, break, The Fisherman

FLO ANITO: Think pop with a twist of jazz and originality. Flo Anito's sound is as unique and catchy as her name. Classically trained in voice, piano, and cello, songwriting comes naturally to this pop singer who sites DC as her homebase. She's performed at Artomatic, throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic, and recently recorded a new album with Chris Keup (Jason Mraz, etc.). Learn more about her here.

ALEXIS GEORGE: Her influences range from Janis Joplin to The Dollyrots to Veruca Salt, and with songs like "Remedy" and "Think That Way," Alexis brings an edgy honesty to her music. Click here to hear her songs and learn more about her.

THE FISHERMEN: The Fishermen, originally from Washington DC, started in 1992. They first received recognition for their unique musical style in California, touring the Los Angeles music scene with bands such as Maroon 5, AllRise and Pseudopod. The music of the Fishermen is a seamless mixture of alternative and folk rock, and their harmonies are painfully beautiful. Click here to check out their website.

THE ORGANIZATION:

Guitars Not Guns provides free guitars and lessons to youth who need them, and the students are mentored and encouraged to live boldly into their full potential.
