At 5:00pm there will be a free live musical introduction from The Cornel West Theory, a DC based hip-hop band. Free, open to all.
6:00pm An Evening Lecture with Dr. Cornel West!
Dr. Cornel West will discuss his works including his newest title Brother West: Living and Loving Out Loud, A Memoir. One of America's most provocative public intellectuals, Cornel West has been a champion for racial justice since childhood. His writing, speaking, and teaching weave together the traditions of the black Baptist Church, progressive politics, and jazz. www.cornelwest.com Free and open to all.
Note: You will definitely want to ARRIVE EARLY to ensure seating for this event! Last time Cornel West was there the line was out the door and down the block. The earlier you can get there to land a seat, the better!
