PAST: Film Screening & Panel on Art21 at WVSA's new Third THURS Program, Oct 15th, 5:30pm - 7:30pm, Free

WVSA is hosting a screening of an episode from the PBS series “Art:21- Art in the Twenty-First Century.” The Gallery's doors will open to the public at 5:30pm with the screening to begin at 6:00pm and discussion about the film and art to follow.

The evening's screening of the episode “Fantasy” presents four artists (Jeff Koons, Mary Heilmann, Florian Maier-Aichen and Cao Fei) whose works or personal stories transport viewers to imaginary worlds and altered states of consciousness. With works that seem at times hallucinatory, irreverent, a nd sublime, each of these artists pursues a vision first held in the mind's eye.

For more information and to view a highlight clip of the film and brief videos of each of the artists, go here:

WVSA ARTs connection launched 3rd Thursdays this fall by opening its doors the third Thursday evening of every month to host free gallery openings, performances, film screenings, author readings, and more. WVSA is striving to create an opportunity for established and aspiring artists to educate local youth and share their art with the local community.

This event is held at WVSA's ARTiculate Gallery located at 1100 16th Street, NW at the corner of 16th and L Street.

  1. I'm really excited about this film. I went to the one with the Washington Project for the Arts, and it was great!

  2. Stocks and Bonds apparel attended and the film and panel discussion was great. Great event and great people.
