OF NOTE: Check out this Time-Lapse Video of the Kogod Courtyard, One of my Favorite Places to go in DC, Open 11:30am - 7:00pm, Free

Check out this neat time-lapse video of Kogod Courtyard, located inside of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery in Chinatown, just above the metro. Note, the video may take a few minutes to load but it's worth watching 'til the end, it gets really pretty when it gets darker out.

This is one of my favorite places to go in DC! It's a great place to chat, a great place to go alone, a great place to meet for a date, just a great place! Whenever I am looking for a beautiful quite space to go, I often head here! They are open everyday from 11:30-7:00pm except this Friday, Dec 25th for the holiday. It's in a Smithsonian museum so it's Free to get in. The architecture, real trees and natural light are really beautiful, and they even offer free wireless internet access! There is a cafe where you can purchase food, coffee and wine even, though be mindful that this is a museum priced cafe.

In addition, the courtyard is attached to two great art museums and the Lunder Conservation Center and Luce Foundation Center on the third floor, which host Art + Coffee, free coffee and tea, Wed - Sun from 1:30pm - 3:30pm, are also in the building and you can find free wi-fi and a beautiful quite spot to work from there as well!

SAAM and NPG info can be found on the Smithsonian site here. Metro: Gallery Place - Chinatown, museum is above 9th & G St exit
