Filmed entirely in Washington, DC, this film tells the story of Jasmine “Jazz” Morgan. When she loses her mother to a long-time battle with lung cancer, she can only focus on one thing- pursuing her dream of becoming a singer. Ignoring the wishes of her father (played by DC’s own Clifton Powell) who prefers she return to college, Jazz spends the summer entrenched in the hyper-sexualized, drug-influenced music scene in DC The speed of her success is matched only by the pace of the increasing pressure, and Jazz recklessly tries to maintain control.
