This month's feature poets are the R Street Collective and PhenmenaDaPoet. R Street Collective is a performance ensemble of Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Thought-provoking and system challenging, R Street Collective continues to break boundaries of age, and redefines the caliber of spoken word and poetry. Features go on around 7:00pm. A brief open mic will follow. Open Mic sign-up begins at 6:00pm and poets who perfrom get in free.


HOME Showcase 2010 honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The features' performances will deal with issues of social justice and identity. Following the program, all attendees will be invited to participate in the creation of a group piece surrounding these issues to be displayed in the gallery. Sponsored by Soho Tea & Coffee, who will be providing Free coffee and refreshments.


HOME is on every 3rd Friday of the month at the Hillyer Art Space and is hosted by Fred Joiner, curator and host of the American Poetry Museum's Intersections at the Honfleur Gallery and poet-in-residence at Busboys and Poets, Shirlington.
