"Cheap Eats: Best Bang for your Buck" meals for under $8 - What are your favorites?

So, I was hungry today and decided to head over to Baja Fresh and was so thrilled when my veggie burrito was just $5.49 with tax! Where do you go for deals on food? I'm thinking of compiling this one post where I include reader's choices. Preferably healthy pics (no fast food chains) that you can find in DC. Any specials for lunch? Happy hour? Dinner deals? Let me know your thoughts! I don't eat out a lot but when I do, here are some of my favorite places for fast, filling and tasty food under $8 (incl tax).

Casual Places, no waiter service:

* Baja Fresh
* Chipotle
* Five Guys
* Pete's a Pizza (Columbia Heights)
* Pret a Manger (Farragut West)
* Old City Cafe of Jerusalem (falafel shop in Adams Morgan)

Readers favorites:

* Good Stuff Eatery
* California Tortilla
* Nirvana Express (Farragut West food court)

Sit Down, waiter service:

* Tryst, great salads and sandwiches
* Busboys and Poets, sandwiches

Readers favorites:

* Daily Grille, for happy hour, $2.95 menu & cocktails
* Wok and Roll on H St in Chinatown, cheap appetizers

What are your favorite places to get the best bang for your buck? Please reply by leaving a comment and I'll add them to the list.

  2. Sit Down, waiter service:

    Giant burrito with your choice of meat, plus a basket of chips and tasty salsa de aguacate for $7.00 at Tacqueria Distrito Federal in Columbia Heights!

    As a matter of fact, all entrees are $7.50 or under and they're delicious.
