This show features the work of the local digital artist, Brad Ulreich, who is also a dear friend of mine. There are seven unique pieces that have been printed very large, six feet tall to be exact. They are really amazing to see in large scale in person, if you have a chance to check it out, I definitely recommend you do!Artwork by Brad Ulreich

March 12th - April 23rd

This new series "La Femme daVine" is the first show since his hit "New Beat from Brain" series that was on view at Dissident Display and Alliance Francaise.
Brad's new work was also highlighted in a new article written by Sarah Massey on DC's best visual arts site, and a great place to find upcoming and on view art shows, The PinkLine Project.
Brad's work, which Massey calls "digital decoupage" in her article, is thought provoking and visually intriguing. These images of women have been pieced together by the mind of Ulreich, who uses modern tools and layering of images to show us the female form in a way that we have not seen before. In his work, you can see the mind of a skilled graphic artist exploring the world of science and surrealism. I consider him a true visionary artist.
You can see an Interview with Brad in his Studio on Voice of America's Spanish language Arts and Culture page here. It's a longer piece about digital art, Brad's part comes on just after 4 minutes.
"Digitally fusing imagery from anatomical drawings, fetishism, renaissance masterworks, and spiritual images, the women are a revamped take on classical imagery of madonnas and venuses." - from Vivid's press release
When you're out there, I also recommend that you check out their sister gallery which has two floors of art, Honfleur (map) and is just a short walk from Vivid. I know it's a bit of a hike for us NW folks but I guarantee that it will be worth the hike! If you have a car, there are driving directions on the website.
