The Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet

As part of the Blues Alley Jazz Society’s Sixth Annual Big Band JAM festival, and in honor of Jazz Appreciation Month 2010 honoree, Dave Brubeck, the Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet will perform. The group is made up of five jazz musicians from the Institute’s Fellowship Program, selected to study jazz at University of the Pacific for two years.

Presented in collaboration with the Blues Alley Jazz Society, Ambassador Kenton Keith, Congressman Neil Abercrombie, Stephen Anderson of the Brubeck Institute, Anthony Nalker of the Military District of Washington, and Kennith Kimery of Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra will discuss their experiences performing this distinctly American musical style.
