Just found out about this one through twitter.... It's $12 but you get 12 bands, which is a great deal even if you don't stay for all 12. Special thanks to @sweetflowmobile for tipping me off about this event with their tweet that the Sweetgreen Frozen Yogurt Truck would be at 16th & Harvard, around the corner basically from where I live, around 2:00pm on Saturday. I was like, Sweet! I love sweetgreen yogurt, and what is this event they are going to be at and why haven't I heard about it yet? More answers below...
Done&Done Music Festival
All Day Today!
Saturday, April 10th
1:30pm - 11:00pm
All day Music, 12 bands for $12
Music w/ all you can drink Pabst $20
What is Done & Done? I was wondering the same thing so I did some research. It turns out there will be 12 bands performing, six from DC and six from NYC. They'll get together for an all-day music festival first in DC this Saturday, April 10th, then in NYC next weekend.
It was a bit complicated finding this info but here is all of the info you'll need now, all in one place! First, I checked out the link on their twitter page @doneANDdone which had a link to their Done & Done site on tumblr, where I didn't see much info except for a great list with links to all of the bands performing without any time or admission noted. Thankfully, they had a post linking to today's interview on ReadysetDC where I was then able to find the link to the facebook invite which thankfully has the official line up of bands and what times they go on along with more details.
All Souls Unitarian Church
16th & Harvard St, NW
Metro: Columbia Heights, walk to Columbia Rd, turn right walk to 16th St and turn left and you'll see the church. Not sure if the main entrance on 16th St will be open, if not, there is an entrance on Harvard. You can also take the S2 or S4 bus along 16th St to Harvard.
Note to Organizers: It would be super if you would have consistency with your use of the word or sign for any. I saw doneANDdone, Done & Done and Done&Done all used... which is not very user friendly and from a marketing perspective does not help with your branding at all as there is no consistency. I actually tried searching on facebook for the event before finding the link on the ReadysetDC interview but my search for Done and Done, doneANDdone and Done & Done didn't lead me to the event page, which was actually listed under Done&Done without spaces.
So, if you feel me on this one here, which I hope you do, I hope you will consider keeping things consistent for any marketing and events that you have in the future or at least be more open about the confusion this may cause. Avoiding the word and in an event may be a good idea but I suppose it's too late to adjust that one. In addition, the name didn't say music festival and I wasn't even sure what it was. It was a lot of effort on my part just trying to get the basic what, when, where and how much info. I love helping to get the word out about super cool low cost events and I consider myself someone who is in the loop here in DC. I happen to also attend All Souls and live basically around the corner from there, so I was pretty surprised to learn about this less than 24 hours beforehand. I hope you'll work on your messaging for future events and please know this advice is meant to help you and not to make you feel bad :)
