This April mothertongue brings you Seattle's best: Denise Jolly, of recent Salt Lines Tour fame! Experience Denise's feature performance at mothertongue along with an open mic. A suggested donation of $5-10 will be collected for the new nonprofit, The Fiercegrrl Fund. This organization was recently establish to support the medical needs of local queer artist and crafter Nicole Puzan, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in early 2010. Denise Jolly has served as co-host and facilitator of the Seattle Poetry Slam, Poetry Curator for The Round (a live multidisciplinary collaborative arts show), Eleventh Hour Productions Board of Directors (a Seattle Based Literary Non Profit) and Founding Vice President of Stronghold Productions (a Seattle based arts non profit). She has performed, taught, and/or collaborated in venues as large as UC Santa Cruz, Burning Man, and Coachella and venues as small as Cook County Detention Center, Cleveland High School, and Seattle Youth Speaks writing circle. She likes doing great things with amazing people and being moved by art, community and how the two can work together.
