Groundbreaking Ceremony for Rhode Island Station

Join Urban Atlantic and A&R Development Corp. with Mayor Adrian Fenty for the groundbreaking of Rhode Island Station, a $107 million public-private mixed-use transit-oriented development that will bring a 24-7 town center development to the Rhode Island Avenue corridor in NE. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty will speak at the ceremony along with Ward 5 Councilmember Harry Thomas, Jr. and Metro General Manager Richard Sarles. Rhode Island Station will be the first mixed-use residential and retail development in the nation to combine HUD multifamily financing with US Dept of the Treasury New Markets Tax Credit equity. Ground will be broken for 274 Class A apartments, 70,000 square feet of main street retail, and a new Metro commuter garage.
