This month's salon will highlight the work of the local organization, Critical Exposure
“5 Years, 5000 Images: A Celebration & Retrospective.” View photos from "Critical Exposure" show in Chinatown. The photos were taken by high school and middle school students in DC and in some other cities and tell stories about underfunded school facilities, youth homelessness, unemployment, school lunch nutrition, youth violence, the causes and consequences of dropping out of school, and more, all alongside photo. I was at the fundraiser event a few weeks ago and learned quite a bit about the organizations work to give voice, through photography, to students using art to empower, educate and inspire the students and others.
