Film and panel discussions at AFI Silver Theater, super close to the Silver Spring Metro. AFI Silver supports the diverse voices and free expression of independent storytellers and fosters the power of documentary to enhance our understanding of the world.

Films will include Nobody's Perfect, a documentary that follows Niko von Glasow as he looks for eleven people who, like him, were born with disabilities due to the disastrous side effects of Thalidomide and Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, Mat Whitecross' (The Road to Guantanamo) rip-snorting portrait of capricious British punk rock pioneer Ian Dury (BAFTA nominee Andy Serkis), who came from a troubled childhood and later deals with the physical effects of polio and other issues. Also screening is a 3 minute short called Stubborn and Spite, where two men with physical disabilities fight over the last disabled parking space. Read more about the films on AFI's site here.
