PAST: Interactive MUSIC + ART event with Bluebrain this SAT, June 19th at The Fridge, 8:00pm sharp, $5 - $10

This event sounds really neat!
Bluebrain - An Interactive Concert
Saturday, June 19th
Starts at 8:00pm sharp
$5 - $10 see note*

This Saturday, The Fridge hosts DC-based duo Bluebrain, who will be performing a set of largely instrumental/electronic/ambient music. The audience will actually be able to control elements of the music wirelessly via their iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices. In addition to the music, artist Arijit Das of Protein Media will be drawing large-scale illustrations, improvised, based on the music that's created between Bluebrain and the audience. The Fridge will become a sort of echo chamber, where everyone has a chance to add their input and influence the work of everyone else in the room. Electronic artist Yoko K (recently seen performing at the TED Conference) will open the evening.

Note: As this is an interactive event, please be sure to arrive before 8:00pm if you want to participate. Specific instructions on how to participate will be provided at the event, but for now, here's is what you need to know:

You will need to download the App called TOUCHOSC is you want to participate. It's not a large app, but it's preferable that you download it before arriving. Also, make sure you're running OS 3.1.3 to make sure your phone is up to date.

It is NOT required that you have an iPhone/iPod Touch to attend this event. The artists tried very hard to extend this technology across different smartphones, but the technology just isn't there on all phones yet. That said, they will have other ways for people to participate.

Note * The cost of the event is $10. However, if you have downloaded the app onto your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch, just show it to us when you arrive and we'll subsidize the cost...you will only be charged $5 for admission with the app.
