Hillyer hosts VOICES, Voices Organizing for International Change, Empowerment & Support, a monthly internationally focused hip-hop event that uses multi-media and incorporates film, live Skype interviews and performances broadcast from the featured countries. In addition, there are live hip hop performances in the DC space which are broadcast back to the featured country. This month will also feature live screen-printing and Senegalese food! VOICES supports a rotating cast of hip-hop-based youth empowerment projects. So far, the project has worked with Bavubuka in Uganda, the Magamba foundation in Zimbabwe, Heal the Hood in South Africa, and Performing Life in Bolivia.
