Art Opening Tonight for "Postcards to My Parents"
Thursday, September 30th
6:30pm - 9:30pm
Free
Award-winning designer and blogger, Carolyn Sewell, will be exhibiting her yearlong project, Postcards To My Parents. Every day from July 23, 2009 to July 23, 2010 Sewell sent hand-drawn postcards (4.25”x 6”) to her parents with messages of love and adoration, snarky quotes from friends, family and television, and the occasional drawing of a gnome. This exhibit truly portrays a daughter’s ongoing and thought-provoking affection for her parents, and showcases her witty perspective on life.
Note that donations received at the event will benefit Family Matters of Greater Washington, an organization that provides assistance to more than 12,000 children, youth, families and seniors each year.
