Mr. Lockwood is nationally recognized for his work on context-sensitive street design and traffic calming, winning awards from the ITE, APA, Renew America, and the CNU; but, more importantly, improving the places in which he has worked from social, economic, and environmental perspectives. He designed the Gilberts Corner roundabouts (Route 50 and Route 15) and the Route 50 traffic calming project in Loudoun County.
From the invite: "At its core, Ian’s work shows that local interconnected streets carry more vehicles in a more pedestrian friendly environment than the arterial roads we build today. Once you see one of Ian’s presentations, you will never look at transportation the same again!"
