The DC VegFest, formerly held at GWU, is moving to a new, spacious location for a bigger and better event this year at The Yards Park, located right on the waterfront, just a few blocks from the Navy Yard Metro. This year's festival will highlight the many benefits of choosing plant-based foods and showcase the delicious meat-free options available (including a bunch of free samples!), and the first 1,000 attendees will get a chance to take home a free 2012 DC VegFest commemorative bag filled with lots of SWAG. The festival will include speakers, cooking demos, and over 100 exhibitors!
Though the event itself is free, you'll likely want to bring some cash to purchase food from some of the vendors that will be there, including some of my personal favorites, Pete’s New Haven Style Apizza, Sticky Fingers, and Amsterdam Falafeshop.
