After the Boston Marathon attack on April 15, 2013, police officers, firefighters, and EMS rushed to help the wounded. Learn more about the events that occurred that day from those who were directly involved at this panel discussion. The panel will be moderated by Frank Bond, retired anchor and reporter of Washington DC’s WUSA-TV, and current documentary producer for the Newseum. Panelists include:
- Richard DesLauriers, Special Agent in Charge of Boston FBI Office during the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and leader of the FBI’s Boston Joint Terrorism Task Force which led the bombing investigation.
- Sergeant John MacLellan, Watertown (MA) Police officer who confronted the suspected bombers who fled Boston days after the attack.
- Carmen M. Ortiz, United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts and lead prosecutor of the Boston Marathon Bombing suspect who was convicted on April 8, 2015.
