"Suwarna, meaning “our pictures” in Arabic, is an exhibition of photography taken by the participants in “Triple Exposure,” a public art project at Tomorrow’s Youth Organization (TYO) in Nablus in the Northern West Bank, in which Palestinian boys and girls, ages 10 to 16, use their cameras to capture their homes, neighborhoods, schools, friends, hobbies, and daily moments of beauty."

TYO is an American, non-governmental organization that works in disadvantaged areas of the Middle East, enabling children, youth and parents to realize their potential as healthy, active and responsible family and community members.

Off-Rhode Studio Gallery, a project of Art Enables, presents an exhibition of locally produced quilts inspired by a recent exhibition at the American Folk Art Museum in New York. There are 30 quilt artists in this exhibit from UHURU quilting guild, Daughters of Dorcas quilting guild, and WEE BEE quilting Bee.

Far Away on view at Capitol Hill Art League

Posse II and Catherine Koch on view at The Fridge

The Fridge presents new work by Posse II and Catherine Koch.  Posse II, AKA Daniel Hopkins, is a graffiti “writer” born in the Bronx and raised in Yonkers, NY.  Koch, a photographer, has spent the last three year following Posse II and documenting his work around the globe.  Her photographs should provide a spurious curatorial statement in the form of visual documentation of Posse II’s larger murals.

Since 2004, The Washington Print Club has joined with the Washington Printmakers Gallery and its nonprofit arm, The Washington Print Foundation, to award an annual Excellence in Printmaking student prize. The aim of this award is to encourage printmaking and the use of traditional, non-digital techniques. This year's juror is Joann Moser, Senior Curator, Smithsonian American Art Museum.
