Music

Classical music lovers will be delighted to hear that Maestro Christoph Eschenbach, National Symphony Orchestra Music Director, will conduct a free open rehearsal of Brahms Third Symphony with the UMSO at 7 p.m. at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center! Those without cars can metro to College Park and take a taxi or the free UM Shuttle bus 104 there.

Poetry + Party

It’s the final night of the DC Irish Writers Festival organized by Solas Nua and tonight is the final reading with the award-winning Irish poet, Leanne O'Sullivan, who has published two collections of poetry with Bloodaxe Books. Stick around after the reading for a closing party, all happening at Sova, in the Atlas District at 1359 H St NE.

Psychologist and civil rights activist Terrence Roberts, most publicly known as one of the “Little Rock Nine” - the group of African American teenagers who desegregated Little Rock's Central High School in 1957- is coming to Busboys and Poets14th & V St, NW tonight to talk about his new book, Simple, Not Easy: Reflections on Community Social Responsibility and Tolerance from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
