Hillyer Art Space in Dupont Circle, located in the alley between the Phillips Collection buildings, hosts the final screening in their Global Lens International Film Series. The featured screening this month will be My Tehran For Sale from Iran. The film, set against the backdrop of Tehran’s thriving arts culture, and framed through a series of artful and dramatic flashback sequences, offers an insider’s perspective on life in Iran’s capital city, following a terminally ill actress, Marzieh, and her desperate quest for political asylum. Poet-turned-filmmaker Granaz Moussavi boldly registers the trials of a modern woman struggling to flourish in Iran’s contemporary political climate. Refreshments will be served and the film will be followed by a special Q&A with folks from the organization, Reel Worldwide Underground Link.
