In conjunction with their Celebrate Hawai’i Festival this weekend, the National Museum of the American Indian will be holding a special screening of two films by Indigenous Hawaiian directors. “Stones” is great short film - an adaptation from a Hawaiian legend about the last two residents of the island after the arrival of the humans. “Papa Mau,” follows “a group of young Hawaiians…on a mission to revive the traditional Polynesian arts of canoe-building and wayfinding (non-instrument, celestial navigation).”
