The National Children’s Museum presents “Ahh…SHARKS!!”
Saturday, August 13th
11:00am - 6:00pm
Free

"Did you know the whale shark is the largest fish in the sea and it is as long as three school buses? Come and find out about these amazing animals as we celebrate all things shark! Hunt for shark teeth at our very own "beach," see and touch real shark jaws and other artifacts, and make a shark craft. There will also be a free giveaway today courtesy of the National Aquarium. You're guaranteed to have a "Fin-tastic" time!"

Note: The Museum is not yet open, it is scheduled to open in 2013. This event is taking place at the Launch Zone.

112 Waterfront St (map)
National Harbor, MD
Metro: See below for transit options.

For those without cars, the National Harbor can be reached by taking the NH1 bus from the Branch Avenue Metro on the green line. The bus drops you off right in front of the Launch Zone, though it doesn't run that frequently so you'll want to check the schedule in advance. You can also hop on a water taxi from Old Town, Alexandra, Mount Vernon or Georgetown, a fun way to get there, though certainly not the cheapest. It's $8 each way. Learn more here.
