Photography + Artist Presentation
7:00pm

Thomas Sayers Ellis will present photos from (UN) Lock it: The Percussive People in the Go-Go Pocket, his current exhibition at The Gallery at Vivid Solutions. He will intermingle stories of his personal experiences with Go-Go with an introduction to the themes of his exhibition.

Hand Dancing Demo
8:00pm

If Not For Grace, an affiliate of the National Hand Dance Association, will hold a lecture, performance, and participatory demonstration of Hand Dance – Washington, DC’s official dance.

Humanitini Panel
9:00pm

The Humanities Council will host “From Clubs to Pubs” a special Art All Night edition of our popular Humanitini program. Panelists will discuss the changing nature of how nocturnal Washingtonians consume culture. The event will be moderated by Amy Saidman of Speakeasy and is set to include Kate Michael, from K Street Kate; DC Scene-Man Mood Bacho; DJ Adrian Loving and; Cultural Promoter/DC Socialite/Pinkline Project Founder and Chief Contrarian, Philippa Hughes!

Spoken Word - Poetry Slam
10:30pm-1:30am

The Humanities Council, in partnership with the National Underground Spokenword Poetry Awards, will host a poetry slam in which poets will compete for a $200 prize. An open-mic will be available after the slam for poets not competing.

Performance by Christylez
1:30am

Christylez Bacon, a Washingtonian, Progressive Hip-Hop Artist, and Grammy Nominee in 2010 will perform.
