Leaving, Finding & the Space Between Art Opening at The Coupe - works by Alana Nason 6:00pm - 9:00pm
From the artist: "With this particular installation my aim is to explore what happens within us after taking the leap. The world changes each of us in it's own way and as we go the places and individuals we encounter come together to create the people we become. For those of you who I don't know, I'm an adventurer in my twenties who, for the past three years has biked, walked, backpacked, sailed, flown and traveled by train across the globe. Through a mix of photography, short stories and poetry I share the lives of the people whose paths I cross and how these encounters shape my journey." Learn more on her site Art of Leaving.

In this edition of playbackthetape you can see two rarely-broadcast made-for-television teen comedies, starring valentine's crushes from 30 years back... Sean Astin and Michael J. Fox go head to head for the title of cutest retro valentine, with a VHS double-feature of sidewalk-surfin' mischief in "The B.R.A.T. Patrol" (1986) and rollicking summer camp romance in "Poison Ivy" (1985). Look for early performances by Nia Long, Mackenzie Astin, Nancy McKeon, and more, along with vintage television commercials home recorded on VHS during the original broadcast.
