Discussion hosted by DC Advocates for the Arts
"What's In the DC Budget?" with Ed Lazere
Tuesday, September 18th
5:30pm - 6:30pm
Free, RSVP appreciated
Note: This event was postponed due to severe weather - will post again once I hear back about the new date.

From the invite: "Mayor Gray and the DC Council recently convened a task force to review the DC tax code. The panel includes former Mayor Anthony Williams, and community leaders including Ed Lazere of the DC Fiscal Policy Institute."

"Empower your advocacy - know the facts. Have you ever wondered where government funding comes from and where it's spent? Which taxes generate what amount of money? Join DC Advocates for the Arts to hear Ed Lazere, of the DC Fiscal Policy Institute, do an overview of the DC Expense and Revenue/Tax systems. Learn where the money comes from, and where it goes. Ed will also discuss some issues of particular interest to the arts community including: the theater ticket tax, earmarks, the share of DC budget going to the arts, and any questions you want to ask."
