8:00pm - 10:30pm
Free, RSVP required, sorry for the late post but I just found out about this one.
Note: I contacted their media point person to ask if they would have a stand-by line and he said that the best chance for folks getting in would be to just show up. They can't guarantee admittance, but a lot of times there are no shows for free events so they will do their best to accommodate folks who show up.

Alexis Ohanian co-founder of Reddit, arguably the world’s most important social website right now, will be at GWU on Tuesday, November 5th at 8:00pm. He'll be "talking about how Reddit blew up (and why he eventually sold it to Condé Nast), Internet freedom, and the art of founding a tech startup. Even if you don’t visit the site, which can often be a dark and scary place, nearly every news organization uses it to generate content." - from the Washingtonian post where I found the event. "Ohanian has an impressive repertoire: after co-founding Reddit and later selling it to Condé Nast Publications, he founded Hipmunk, a consumer oriented online travel website, and then went on to become an angel investor. He was a major force in the fight against SOPA and PIPA, and remains an active proponent of the open internet today. Listen to Alexis discuss the secrets of entrepreneurship, marketing advice, and how to ignite a grass-roots internet movement. He just published his first book, "Without Their Permission: How the 21st Century Will be Made, Not Managed". This event is co-sponsored by GW Tech Collective, the GW Office of Entrepreneurship, and the 2014 GW Business Plan Competition."
