The Meridian International Center hosts the first film in this new film series. Tonight's film is part of Abigail E. Disney, Pamela Hogan, and Gini Reticker’s Women, War & Peace series. The film follows the efforts of three Afghan women: a savvy parliamentarian who participated in writing the Afghan constitution, a former midwife and one of the last women’s rights advocates remaining in Kandahar, and a young activist from a traditional family in Kabul.
Q&A discussion to follow with guest speaker J. Alexander Thier, Assistant to the Administrator and Director, Office of Afghanistan-Pakistan Affairs, USAID. Moderated by Tamara Gould, Vice President, ITVS International.
