“Chispa” is a quarterly media mash-up where DC artists, cultural organizers and creative agitators share what they’re thinking, dreaming and doing in 360 seconds. Presentations are accompanied by relevant images that automatically advance after 20 seconds.
This lineup will be great! Speakers include:
- Danny Harris of The People's District, talking about storytelling and the art of building community
- Margaux Delotte-Bennett, talking about traveling to find home and the making of a one-woman show
- Christylez Bacon on hip-hop improvisation, how freestyling can increase productivity
- Sharon Burton, eco-art east of the river - green urbanism, business and art in ward 7
- Tony Keith, voice of privilege, performance of power - black male feminism and spoken word
- Peter Krsko of Albus Cavus, the study of color from every angle - physics, art, biology, psychology and rainbows
Special INTERSECTIONS "sneak preview" performances by Brad Linde and Collide-o-Scope Music. Brad Linde is a saxophonist/pianist/educator living in the Washington D.C. metro area. Collide-O-Scope Music performs work by Luigi Nono, Iannis Xenakis, Chrisopher Bailey, Douglass Geers, John Cage, and Alvin Lucier in a concert for piano, clarinet, and electronics.
