Join BloomBars for a screening of "My Mother's Journey" (2009) a film about the power of the individual and the courage it takes to make societal change. "My Mother's Journey" tells the story of Elizabeth “Liz” Hampton - an African American woman who worked in the tradition of social reform in upstate New York and influenced progress during the civil rights era and beyond. After the screening, you are invited to stay for a discussion with the filmmaker, Sam Hampton, PhD.Free Popcorn and refreshments will be available to enhance your movie-watching experience. Every Tuesday at 7:30pm, BloomBars screens Indie Films, most often documentaries that touch on social issues. Join fellow film buffs for a screening followed by a discussion with talking points about the film. Filmmakers, directors, and subject matter experts join the discussion when possible. Suggested donation for this event is $8 - $10.
