PAST: Outdoor Summer Concert Series WED nights at Strathmore continues with Red Baraat from India this WED, August 10th at 7:00pm, Free

Summer Outdoor Concert: Red Baraat
Wednesday, August 10th
7:00pm - 9:00pm
Free

Baraat is Hindi for a marriage procession – and the joyous dancing and singing that ensues therein. Red Baraat is a lively mix of traditional Indian and modern American music. Here the infectious North Indian rhythm Bhangra meets the sound of the funkiest brass band imaginable: dhol (double-sided, barrel-shaped North Indian shoulder drum), plus drumset, percussion, sousaphone and horns. Enjoy the tantalizing mix of fresh originals and Bollywood favorites.

About the concert series: Travel around the world on a summertime serenade without leaving the comfort of your beach chair or picnic blanket -- that's the magic of Strathmore's free outdoor concerts. Eight international acts, eight Wednesday evenings, eight opportunities to enjoy music in the sweet summer breeze. Free and open to the public.

Note: There will not be a concert on Wednesday, August 17th.

Save the date for the final event of the series!
