This discussion is designed for people who have explored the interaction of social structure, media, and social change, and would like to share the challenge of making sense of it. Areas of discussion will include things such as: What are the relationships between propaganda and social change? Do grand narratives actually affect day-to-day living and consciousness? Resource sharing and networking on these subjects are encouraged.

About the facilitator: Chris Simpson is a professor at AU and a media / social analyst whose books include Blowback, The Splendid Blond Beast, Science of Coercion, National Security Directives of the Reagan and Bush Administrations, Universities and Empire, and War Crimes of the Deutsche Bank and Dresdner Bank. He also edited Comfort Women Speak. His most recent article is “Communication Revolution” for the Oxford Encyclopedia of Social History. Simpson’s work has been published in more than a dozen languages.
