PAST: ART TALK: "The Ways We Collect" a Conversation with Artist Jessica Cebra - who has a show on view now at Transformer - and DC Public Library Specialists at the Tenleytown Library this THURS, Jan 23rd at 6:30pm, Free
Having studied Library Science, archives management and historic preservation, Cebra believes that collecting, arranging, categorizing, preserving and exhibiting objects is as important as the significance of the artifacts themselves. With DC Public Library's Manager of Special Collections Kim Zablud, Community Archivist Derek Gray and Transformer Founder & Executive Director Victoria Reis, Cebra will discuss the politics of archiving, and how value is assigned to objects over time.
