Hear Anya Schoolman of DC Solar United Neighborhoods (DC SUN), an umbrella group of local solar energy cooperatives, talk about the state of solar energy and future opportunities and threats. This event is organized by Green Neighbors, a neighborhood group in Petworth, Park View, Brightwood, and Columbia Heights. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion at this event for those interested in learning more.
"The good news: solar cooperatives have formed in every ward of the city, and the District Department of Energy (DDOE) recently announced an expansion of funding to assist low-income residents with solar panel installation. The bad news: Our progress in solar energy could be threatened by a merger of our local utility Pepco with utility giant Exelon."
