This seems like a pretty interesting discussion of an uncommon topic. The Karabakh Foundation is hosting a panel tonight about Azerbaijan carpet-making traditions. They will also address why “Azerbaijani carpets” is not a common term, even though a significant percentage of carpets throughout the world are made in Azerbaijan. Panelists include a research fellow from George Mason University, an Azerbaijani carpet maker, and an oriental rugs deal.
