PAST: Visit the EU in your own backyard with the Annual EU Embassy Open House "Shortcut to Europe" this SAT, May 7th from 10:00am - 4:00pm, Free

It's the Annual EU Embassy Open House Day!

"Shortcut to Europe" in DC

Saturday, May 7th
10:00am – 4:00pm
Free, all ages

I love this event. Every year the Embassies in DC open their doors to the public as part of the "Shortcut to Europe" and this Saturday, all 27 European Union embassies will be open. You'll have a chance to view art and cultural exhibits, taste some traditional food, and even tour some of the ambassador’s residences. The Delegation of the European Union will be running an EU quiz competition where you can win a chance to attend a special event at the Ambassador’s residence.

Best to view the brochure in advance so you can view the map and pick which embassies you want to visit (you won't be able to get to all 27 in one day). Also, it's a good idea to wear comfortable shoes and travel light. Lines can be long at some embassies.

There will be four free bus lines running to the different embassies for this event. A route from Washington Circle and from Van Ness and two routes from Dupont Circle. More info about the bus routes can be found in the brochure.

27 EU Embassies and the EU Delegation. Metro: Dupont Circle, Van Ness or Foggy Bottom and take one of the free buses.

Pick up one of the Free Buses:
The Red Route - corner of 22nd and K streets
The Blue and Green Route - Dupont at Massachusetts Ave and 20th St, NW
The Yellow Route - corner of Connecticut Ave and Van Ness
